I have everything laid out for it. But need to find a beater to take my car off the road to swap parts over.
Any chance you can share your parts list? I'm gonna need the extra stopping power for my fall events. Also, not sure how the rear assembly mounts to the brake and what notBut is there any way to set up a piece between the two too set a higher angle of ?
mk1-3 complete rotor swap (basically this but i spent $50 on used in a junkyard):
Eurospec Sport - Rear Disc Conversion - Mk2 / Mk3 w/ drums to 4x100 Discs
and then I have cad drawings of something similar to vw caddy drop plates to adapt the bolt pattern.
One issue though is i am going to upgrade the fronts at the same time, as well as adding a proportioning valve or you will lock up the back wheels when you hit the brakes..
Just an insane thought....Any chance we could make an upgrade out of Lotus Exige parts. Theyre 4x100 and I already want a set of Exige wheels. I know this might set the price way high, but I dont mind that. Just need to know if it can happen lol
the rear brakes on the exige are bigger because it is rwd. Its design also has a hub with an axle through it. SO it would be too much rear stopping power for the aveo. You would need to machine the current hub down much like xiogary did, and the slip on the rotor, as well as make a custom bracket to hold the caliper. I am not entirely sure how the ebrake on the exige works either.
It would potentially be a good choice for a larger front break swap depending on the hat offset etc.
So rabbit when the conversion is all done wut would you be selling us if your doing it like the coilovers? im guessing it would be the proportioning valve? Would be nice to have discs i still want them.
The proportioning valve I have used in the past with success is an adjustable unit from jegs. Until i get into it, and have mine installed and tested, I cannot say all logistics have been figured out. There are potential things like residual pressure, ebarke cables, and comparable stopping power adjustment that might make it unsafe for typical drivers. If it is too much stopping power, the solution is really to match up the front brakes, so the whole car stops.
