interesting... any issues with the rear wheel coming closer to the rocker?

pretty sweet
I don't have any other plans for it at the moment, this is about what I was after. It drives about the same, no worries about it being top heavy.
There is still a good inch and a half between the front of the rear tire and the rocker.

Now this is new, you have actually made me consider this! Anyone want some H&R springs?

Wow looks nice, Metalman! 185 75's! I tried 185 70's and really liked them in winter conditions, but also for logging and fire roads with larger rocks and potholes - I would deflate them to 28psi, and game on! Great to hear there is only a bit of rubbing too. Thats the highest sidewall I've seen on an Aveo for sure - I will keep this tire size in mind for the the future - I originally wanted to raise my hatch but then decided to lower. I wish there was an option to have both with a quick change.
Do the newer style strut mounts raise or lower the stock suspension vs the older ones? I was going to add them in when lowering with coil-overs. Another way to raise the rear suspension is to use Firestone Coil-Rite Airbags which fit in the springs btw. I am planning on going this route because they are adjustable, there was another gentlemen who mentioned them for his Barina I recall.

ahhhhhh revival, where did you get the spacers for the springs?
For the fronts I used these.
A4 GOLF JETTA NB FRONT STRUT SPACER $12.00
They are a VW part. The Aveo strut bearing is the same part as a VW so they matched right up. I stacked three per side.
For the rear I had two pieces of pipe and one flat plat cut per side.

Welded them up. The off the shelf pipe I had available was smaller than I wanted for the smaller, top piece. I welded it a little off center and installed it with the offset forward so the spring is centered when installed.

Installed. Someday I may make some brackets to move the lower shock mounting point up. This will help to keep the shocks from reaching full extension and "bottoming".
