wow....if your mechanic cant figure out how to take off a brake drum, then he should not be a mechanic...
first, find A REAL mechanic..
second, if i remember correctly, there are one or two screws that need to be taken out with an impact screw driver
thats pretty much it. oh and dont try taking the screws out with a regular screw driver, they wont come off
Step 1: Find new mechanic.
i say use a cutting torch!
dont use a torch!
you take the other wheel off and push that drum in until the drum on the other side falls off..
i was kidding!Quote:

if it is a typical drum setup, if the drum doesnt slide off, then just turn back the star adjusters until it can slide off.
Find yourself a TECHNICIAN not a mechanic. Mechanics are hacks that cannot get certified. Or are just beginning in their career.
I just did mine yesterday on my 2004.
You have to remove the 32mm nut in the center...it may needs a bit of hammering to get out, be sure to remove ebrake.
They are very expensive(paid mine 227 at the dealer, regular price is 325 canadian) they come with wheel studs and bearing but the good news is that the new one comes with removable drums so next time they only gonna cost 26
