      Mevotech lower control arms

has anyone tried these aftermarket control arms for the 2009 ? The man states they are built to X factor standards, which is an improvement to OEM it claims...I picked one up they didn't have both in stock and it doesn't have the grease zerk on the balljoint as they stated it would, it's sealed.

Anyways wondering how they work.....dropped car off for an alignment and needs both lower control arms, both rear shocks and of course a right swaybar link $ 1100.00 alignment at 49,000 miles....this is by far the most expensive car I have ever owned.

it seems to me they are over charging you, a little.

Also, it was just discussed here that the rear control arm bushings were covered under the 100k powertrain warranty, So i am sure the front ones would be covered too. (no other reason i see to replace control arms). So you might have just paid to get work done that would be free at the dealer.

Thanks for the response rabbit....I let them change rear shocks and the swaybar endlink and they were going to replace the bushings...but I said no, I will obtain these aftermarket arms and install myself.

I am in Canada here so you have to realize everything is about double here as compared to you guys down south.

MOOG swaybar link was 73.00 bucks..each KY rear shock 93.00.

I had a 3yr, 60,000KM warranty I will check into that suggestion though and call GM and find out if they are covered.

      .

I spoke to our dealership they said neither the front or the rear bushings are covered..so I put a call into GM Canada Customer Service....not going to hold my breath there though they still haven't returned the last message I left and they haven't replied to the letter I sent them two months ago in regards to the various dealership invoices I paid for "engine missfires" which the dealership said was spark tracing...

Looks like those camshaft actuators should be covered as well that I referenced on another thread..under the powertrain warranty. GM parts call them valves though.

I bought 3 swaybar links from the dealer at 35$ a pop, in Moncton, NB. You're getting ripped off my friend.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

If you move to Saskatchewan you will relearn the meaning of being ripped off....I will tell you how this all started, I got a coupon for a free alignment and I took it in......4 weeks ago I never dreamed of putting a nickel into this car my focus was trade it off. Since this free alignment guy decided to sink his hooks into me, I decided I was going to return the favor. Drop your car off for a free alignment get a call the next day saying you need $ 800.00 bucks worth of repairs and oh BTW your cars all tore apart....I SAID WHAT !!!

I would have said " thanks for the free alignment, I'll be picking it up in 1/2 an hour."

yes that was what I attempted to do but I was told...car is tore apart "it was the only way we could check the parts" and then I was told had a "couple hours into it already"....well I haven't seen before such boldness so I decided at that point I was going to go about this a different way...I will let you know how it turns out LOL

Little late on this response, but I replaced my front control arm bushings around 50,000 miles then the control arms, ball joints, struts and top hats around 80,000. The control arms with bushings and ball joint were only around $80.
