Post My Aveo front right wheel locked up??? thoughts??

      Hey guys,

I will start off guys that if this is in the wrong place or could be moved to a better place just let me know and i will try and move it if i can. Rite as you have probably guessed one of my cars that i got for sale from a 2011 Chevy Aveo classified ads site, and it is a great little city run around going to and from work and to the shops etc. All-in-all i can not fault the Aveo in anyway until now. yesterday i was using her as usual wen't to work in the morning and drove back when i finished and felt no difference in the car, maybe a little bit of friction maybe but i just thought maybe the breaks are sticking... Got home parked her up and went in, all was sweet. Pretty much everyday i will get up and do the same things in the same order i am a little OCD like this, when i got in the Aveo i started her up took off the hand break placed into gear and she wouldn't move, it was revving and wanting to move it was like the feeling of being stuck in a really large pot hole. I inspected the wheel from the outside and nothing seems to be out of place or jamming the wheel so from this point i'm stuck literally. As you can see from above i am not much of a mechanic i would just like a little idea of what i will be/could be walking into when i visit the garage. My first thought was the breaks had seized up but my front left wheel moves like it should and my front right wheel is stuck so i assume it's not this but as i said i'm pretty clueless.

      Example image below

Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated guys, maybe a couple things i could try myself first before getting the garage evolved??

      Thanks

A friend has suggested it could be the bearings inside the wheel or a seized pistol in the break caliper either way none of them sound good....

if it was the bearing you would hear a roaring Noise while driving. Idk about the piston I would stick some thing between the caliper and pry to see if the caliper moves,

Have your caliper / piston checked first.

Mine had a bad case of rust on the piston causing caliper to seize.

Picture below is after we cleaned the accumulated rust. Had to replace the piston on both caliper as both have a rust on it.

My experience with this problem is with antique British sports car, left front wheel locked up solid. Cause was a bad brake hose! The inside rubber collapsed. You can check this by putting a wrench to the brake hose at the brake caliper. When you loosen the hose, fluid will squirt out and brake will be freed. It will lock up the next time you apply the brakes though, so replace the hose and bleed the brakes.
