Need Help Strut Mount 2006 Aveo Hatch

Question:
My strut mount seems to be fitting incorrectly, look at the picture did I get the wrong mount?

Background:
I converted over to coil over springs and ordered new parts. I did not like that and went to shorten spring and new shocks. Ever since then it has not been right. I strongly suspect that the strut mount is too small and fitting way too high in my strut tower. It bangs around a lot and have been trying to work with what I got. So I am giving up and asking for help.

it looks like the nut should sink into the mount more? but the link you provided is the upgrade to what came OEM on my car (being a 2009 it came with the 2009 parts).

I would suggest trying to use 2010 as the year when searching for parts?

Rabbit good suggestion. I think the rubber is compressed and sinks too much into the mount. I found this on amazon:

Just to mention for the record that my car has those 'new gm strut mounts' on my setup, because I had also read that post before I did my suspension mods - they did look shaped better, and the dealership at that time could get them for same price.
