Let us know if you find the pliers that will reach , at Harbor Freight . Never know when some of the rest of us will need a pair , too .

I remember looking for a pair of long pliers there , to remove the spark plug wire boots , in the back 3 plugs on a V-6 . They were between the head & the fire wall . Did not find what I was looking for & ended up using needle nose pliers I already had in the truck / tool box .

May be simpler / easier if you temporarily remove the INTAKE MANIFOLD VACUUM ACTUATOR ?

      God bless

I think I may have... here is link to some I had found:
      16" Long Reach Pliers Set

I have not bought them but I will report back if they reach. In the mean time the Aveo has not acted up at all... Brakes seems fine with out a hiccup and nothing has changed or fixed on it. Weird.. But I am going to invest one some new vacuum hoses. I may need these pliers too because I ordered some aftermarket power locks with remote and I might need them to pull wire through. I am scratching my head of either running the wires to the hatchback through the inside of the "A" pillar and run them through the roof to the hatchback door or down the bottom near the door-sill. We will see...

Side Note: Off topic but.. I don't know if any watched Sundays episode of Naked and Afraid but there was a contestant by the name of Laura from Mcallen, TX.. For the record, not everyone is crazy where I live lol... Just her.. haha

Thanks , I book marked them , in case I need them in the future .

Good luck running the door lock wires . Our Sonic is a sedan , so no experience with hatch backs .

      I have watched 5 - 10 minutes of N & A , 2 - 3 times . About all I could deal with .

      God Bless

Break Through!! Well sort of.. It happened again.. no brakes.. But get this. Yesterday I asked my daughter if the brakes fail again to just turn OFF the A/C and see if brings the brakes back. I was going on a hunch. She remembered this and as soon as she found out she had no brakes she turned off the A/C. Sure enough the brakes came right back without doing anything else. She usually starts the car with the a/c on and of course lower rpm on start up. So that's what I got so far... She described as the pedal being hard when it happened this afternoon. When the brakes came back the turned on the a/c again and the brakes worked as always. Opinions anyone???

As for the old cat it looked nothing was left inside it. I mean it was clean. No traces that anything broke or pieces of anything. Here's the one I got in case anyone is looking for one 2005 CHEVROLET AVEO 1.6L L4 Catalytic Converter | RockAuto
. Oh and yes you are going to need gaskets. Mine came with two rings one for each end of the cat and 6 studs and bolts. Car sounds different no. No more ringing sounds when idling or accelerating. I kept the old cat and tossed in the my shed.
