I would try adjusting the idle screw , myself , were it me .

What does the tach show it is idling at ? Seem to remember our Sonic idles around 700 - 800 rpm ?

I have one of the little blue dongles that plugs into the OBDII port & Torque on my Android phone .

I may check to see what kind of real time data I can discover . Do you have Torque Pro ?

      God bless

I sure do! I liked it so much I got the Pro version. Here is snap shot of what the car was doing when the code came up. I had to do 2 screenshots since the freeze frame was long.

I did forget to mention that I also did a valve cover job on Saturday. It was seeping oil and there was some oil in the spark plug well but just a little bit. Oil looked good. Didn't look creamy or anything and no signs of water in it. So I replaced the gasket and I even put in a new PCV valve. The original one rattled when I shooked it. I think it was working just fine but for $6 why not just replace it since I'm in there. I reattached the hoses and replaced the one going to the PCV valve as well. Torqued everything up to 89 inch pounds. Done and done.. Yay! This is the second time I done this. I have 2008 Dodge Caliber I had to do a valve cover job for three months ago. I have to say, it was easier to work on the Aveo than the Caliber lol..

Shows engine RPM 713 which sounds about right . Engine load almost 50% . Not sure what that is about ?

Have to do some more thinking ........

Another thought... I think my a/c maybe low in Freon because the compressor keeps clicking on and off. Sometimes it stays on and keeps running with no problem. But when you first start the car I can hear the compressor clicking on and off every 2 or 3 seconds and the engine trying to compensate for the load. It seems like the engine struggles to compensate for it. You think that might causes this 48% load that it is showing? The a/c was one when the code popped up.

I checker the RPM of the Sonic . It is in the 700's .

Looked at some other data , but will have to study it to try to make some sense of it .

Do you have a set of gauges to check the A/C ? The A/C could account for some load . Did you say it was a manual or automatic tranny ?

Does the A/C perform well ? At the age of the car , it could need some refrigerant , but best to put gauges on it .

Here is a report Torque Generated , do not know what it will help or not ?

It's an automatic and the a/c does take a while for it to cool down. After a while like at night time it gets to 50F coming out of the vent.
