sunday i was driving down my dirt road that i live off. i went one of the 3 ways that i can go. it was very sandy and i don't drive this way very offten for there are big ruts in the road. so i lost control of my Aveo spun out and bent the rear driver side axle assembly. so if you know of a place that will sell this please let me know i need one with in 2 weeks. the good news i know it's just 10 bolts and 2 springs to take the part out and replace so it will be easy to fix.

if you look at the way the whole bar is made you would not be E-Breaking your aveo at all. as for my dirt road i have 3 ways i can go one is the top road and if you hit 1 spot just at the right speed you catch air. i found this out by mistake. at the bottom of my hill there is a 90 degree turn that i e-break at and i play the thyme to the dukes of hazzard every time i do it. now that i bent the part i seen some stress cracks in the welds so i have been nice to the car. look at the cross member on ebay motors and see the way this is made. or if you changed out your springs your self then you already know.Quote:

I try to becareful with the little car off roading just because I have too much stuff already put into it and can't afford to replace it all. :|
what do you mean by you wouldn't be doing this if you saw how the bar was made. It's plenty sufficient for the car, though the mounting points allow for a lot of side to side movement. I know when I was doing passing drills with another car at Willow Springs, on turn 8 which is a high speed turn, the Aveo could only get up to 95 (120mph in my wifes Mazdaspeed, 110 in a few different WRX's) and the entire rear was moving back and forth... not the car, just the wheels and rear torsion assembly.
A panhard bar or filling the rear mounts would do a lot for the handling of the Aveo.... if only my Aveo would get out of the shop so I can actually drive it again...
Mine hits 115, after that I stop because I want the Aveo and I to live another day.

I got the part from LeagelChopshop.com if i got the part at a local yard i would have paid over $500 and i would have had to pull it myself. i paid $286 Shipped from IN. to CA.
BTW My Aveo Tops out at 117mph it takes me at least a mile to get up to that speed on the freeway it also needs to be flat straight and smooth so if you are saying that your aveo is going 115 in a 1/4 mile i want to see that with my own eyes. have someone film it and shoot the times on your next time out to prove it.
I have a Daytona with t3 turbo and 550 injectors that pulls 126 in the quarters, so if someone is going that fast that quickly in an aveo I would have to say they're full of ****.
