High temp ceramic paint works great , I did my aveo 5
Are you sure you want to paint the drums? I personally think painted drums look horrible... on my friends lanos we painted the drums to match my wheels so they blend in and can't really be seen.
i dont know about yours, but my drums are a light tan, grey color? so if i was going to run wheels that you can see the brakes, i would want to paint them at least black..
i painted my drums black just using hi temp engine paint with ceramic. rated up to 500 degrees fairenheit and have no chips or anything. did it about a year ago.
I did my brakes on the Jetta and my s10 with the Dupli-Color brake kit. That was like 2 1/2 years ago, mine still look good, a bit faded but I just wash em' off with the hose when I wash my cars and they look great.
UPDATE....
Just put the summer rims and new sneakers on (BFG g-Force 205/45/16) and the calipers and drums looked good, no paint flaking, or bare spots.
I would, however, reccomend against the drilled/slottes rotor if you live anywhere salt hits the road. Rust forms in the drilled and slotted areas and then gets caught between the brake pad and the rotor then scores the surface. I'll switch back to the stock rotors when these are totally trashed and not use drilled/slotted again.
But very happy with the way the paint job has held up.
im gona do mine with dupli-color brake paint (got it for free from my friend)
It works pretty good, that's what I used. I just used the brush...do you plan to spray them or use the brush? I just thought it was less mess.Quote:
