Parking brake light

My parking brake light comes on when I'm going about 70mph on the highway. The lever is all the way down. Has anyone had this happen or any suggestions? Thanks.

Change the brake light switch.

Hey, this happens on my aveo too. nevermind the reply by (thehunteroo) because the parking break does not have a break light switch. The break light switch only controls rear break lamps not the parking break light in the insturment panel that you are refering to. Anyway, I'v been told those lights are designed to also be triggerd by low break fluid levels....I'v have not tried or tested that yet so i'll let you know....

My bad, I misread the question on my phone (we get brake light switch threads once a week...). I have never seen that problem before, I do not think it means anything, nothing in the manual about it.

Thanks for the heads up. My parking break light stays on steady under acceleration and goes off under moderate breaking. I'm going to troubleshoot it in the morning. I'll update when I know something.

I talked to a tech and upon his suggestion checked the break fluid level in the master cylinder. Sure enough, it was low. Once I topped it off the light immediatly went off.......this was great for me as anyone with the cruise controle option knows your cruise control will not work as long the parking\emergancy break indicator light is on....... so there you go.... hope that helps.

Hi. On my Aveo 07 the break light be on all the time, and the fluid is full on max. Do anyone could help please?
