      Reinforced Suspension :D

I just put on the VW Suspension and kept my factory rear springs in place to help the load.

It was a tough time, I ended up sawing off the nuts from my old shocks to get the assemblies off. Then I had to grind down a piece of the new coil over to be able to tighten it to the wheel well.

Just showing you all the fun times :P

not sure if you will run into issues or not, but the helper spring should go to the bottom? it might be fine, did you get the height worked out with it? extra load capable now?

what did you have to cut? to top of the post? (that seems to be where people were having issues in sedans)

Your the one with with the WAY TOO COOL electric conversion if I remember correctly. Which VW coilover set did you get? I take it from the pics you only did the rear? How about the front? Are you having to fabricate your own link kit? Nice pictures and nice job. Have you rode it yet? A little smother ride? All these questions and more for free!
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

Ya at the top of the post your not able to get your ratchet or anything to tighten the bolts to the wheel well. So I grinded about a quarter inch arch into it so It could fit properly. But Everything was working properly with the helper up top, but I am getting a slight noise, where the the top of the shaft is hitting inside my wheel well. I think that is due to my rim seems to have a bend in it. I have the weight now so it bounces (semi-smoothly) instead of hard frame hits.

But so far I have about somewhere in the ball park of a 480 lb load in the rear. So i'm pretty happy with it! Also Rabbit i believe the top bolt pattern was M10 x 1.25 Just for future reference

It's the MK1 Kit I believe, another forum member had a spare rear kit when they wanted a lower one. And yes I only did the rear because of my audio equipment. It made a tremendous handling difference, but then again not every Aveo is handling 500 lbs in the rear. Also Rabbit also has a link kit for the front I believe and possible XaioGary, but it was def worth it. I came to find out my passenger side shock was broken anyway lol.
