I'm one of those people who are happy with KYBs and my H&R springs (1.4" drop in the back). Petrified.rabbit (if I'm not mistaking) is designing a decently priced coilovers for our cars, they should be out soon if you want to wait for those.

Byron, sorry for taking so long to answer....
The whole setup ran me about $400 shipped... (maybe $425 tops) shipped from eBay from to different sellers. I'm very happy with the set up. The only thing that I'm doing for suspension for now is installing UR bars once they arrive. I was considering also ordering an 08 front sway bar, but I don't know if it's worth it. Any thoughts people? 8)

I thought the KYB were OEM replacements and using them with lower springs would cause them to fail prematurely? Maybe the KYB are better than OEM and can withstand more? I don't know.
Are you going to get the whole front/back upper/lower UR setup? The car is not going to drive like an Aveo once you're done with it. lol. and I don't mean that in a bad way.
If Rabbit's coilover endeavor goes well, I'm definitely considering it. Otherwise I have also considered the eibach springs (drops a bit less than the h&r) but I'm not sure if they can be used on an 04.
Maybe I'm just picky but seeing the saggy ass bothers me, I see other Aveos all the time and they all look fine.

I never heard of KYB's being a replacement of stock, but never looked to replace, wanted to upgrade. :D And yes, I'm getting all four bars.
And I sure hope that it won't handle the same. 8) And they sure do handle better going over bumps at highway speeds (going over bridge section joints in downtown Seattle on I-5 going south, for example). :D They're two way shocks/struts, not just one way like OEM.

That's good to know. Timing belt, water pump, thermostat housing... after that, well... I guess suspension is next :D
