So I ordered springs and struts off eBay.
The springs should give me ~1-2" drop. I have read reviews that claim as much as an additional 2" drop with the struts.
Review also claim that these shocks wear out pretty quick but, with a lifetime warranty I couldn't care less.
Monday I will be installing them and will post before/after pics.

Okay so here you go, I got it "done" today. I use he quotes because I didn't think I would need new mounts and bearings but, as it turns out I had to mangle up the passenger side shock pretty bad and ended up ruining the bearing. It still works and will get me around town (with a little creaking) for now but, as soon as I get paid I will be putting new mounts/bearing in both sides.

Yeah, stock tires and rims. I was thinking about getting 17s before the drop, now I am leaning to 15s with a low-ish profile tire or 16 with rubber bands.Quote:

OK, how is the ride, I went to the coil over shocks and finding a bit too harsh on the ride. And I need to do something about the rear, it bounces and I think that's because the shock travel is greater than the design of the old spring.Quote:

The ride on my car is significantly better than stock. The shocks and springs I removed had 48k miles on them. It is common knowledge that just about any non-stock suspension solution will result in a more harsh ride (coilovers being one of the worst). In the Aveo though most of the OE components are trash anyways and even a straight metal rod from the knuckle to the hood would ride better.Quote:

I think it looks great even with the gap, even the wife likes it. I think I'll be adding a spacer to the rear wheels after i install my springs to push the wheels out a bit, it might make the gap less noticeable.Quote:

Did you ever get the spacers for the rear wheels?
Unfortunately I have been very busy with school and my job has significantly cut hours, that means I have had no money to buy spacers. I am currently working on finishing up my audio system as I am slowly getting back hours at work (believe it or not the movie theater is seasonal XD).
If everything goes according to plan my system should be complete in about 3 weeks.
