So,does this mean we wll no longer have that annoying thump when going over small bumps. It looks like the top half of the new mounts take out all the vertical clearance.....Am I right ?

I went with the aftermarket rear shock mounts. No problems. They aren't a big deal for the rear. Maybe compare them and see if the original GM rear shock mounts feel better.. maybe the rubber is harder which will last longer.

I did replace the rear wheel hubs. Went from 1 piece drum/wheel hub bearing assembly to the 2 piece drum and wheel hub bearing assembly. I believe this only applies to the 2004-2005 aveo's.

Recently the front wheel hub bearing has gone bad and have to obviously change the front wheel bearing which requires pressing out.. ball joint remover might work. As soon as it gets warmer. Going to do this.

Thread from the dead bump. I'm looking to do the standard 30k suspension refresh that these cars demand (ugh) and I'm looking for these strut mounts to hopefully make this repair last longer. On rock auto I can no longer find the part you show as being the "better" front strut mount. Can anyone confirm if the part number changed?

Looks like the OP went to the dealer to get the part. Rockauto is only going to have aftermarket parts. There are online places to get OEM GM parts too.

Ah! Rock auto was where he was referring to that was selling the OEM shocks. Not the mounts- I should have read more carefully. Anyways, just as an update I finished up at the Chevy parts department a few minutes ago. They had the revised part, and it cost 30.77 after tax. They only had one in stock so I have to wait for the other to come in before I'll install it all.
