      Squealing from front end.

Okay, So I had some squealing come from my front end, assumed it was the breaks and brake calipers. So I changed and upgrade them. But the Squealing is still there now. So I am assuming it the Hub's or Wheel bearings? I have changed out my hubs on my jeep grand cherokee, which the hubs and bearings all in one. Is this the same with the Chevy Aveo? its is 2007.

I have something going on as well.
      I have a 2007 Chevy Aveo5 with 85K miles.
Today there was suddenly a loud metal on metal screetching sound coming from the fron drivers side wheel. It would come and go somewhat randomly, it would quiet down if I turned the wheel slightly in another direction (but it doesnt happen consistently in one position). My brake pressure is now non-existent and over the course of 30 minutes, I went from having brake pressure to having to press it to the floor to stop. However, when I rpess the brakes, I don't hear any screetching. Any input on this?

gorilla p yours sound like a hung up or over extended caliper.

thugren i think you were correct in assuming bearings.

for both of you i notice the dust shield design allows small rocks to get wedged behind my rotors and sound horrific. but i believe i am going to be due for some maintenance up front soon as well.. 50k hard driven miles..

Would this explain the low brake pressure issue as well? I checked the brake fluid and its fine.
I noticed, there is a quite rubbing sound constantly (loud screetching happens intermittently (every 5-30 seconds, and tends to get worse around 45 MPH)
I am also noticing that when I make a sharp turn (turn wheel all the way to one side), I hear a clunking sound like something is hitting and rubbing on something

After spending a couple hours on this, I found the issue. The first thing I did was take off the brake pads and check for anything stuck in ther. I found some black pebbles wedged in the groove in the brake pad.

I then noticed that the rotors were slightly loose, and could not be tightened down. It continued to wiggle slightly when pulled. (likely causing the rubbing)

After taking the rotors off, I eventually found that the rotor mount itself was loose (The thing with the 4 bolts coming out of it that hold the wheel on). It was perfectly fine on the passenger side.

I noticed that there was some thread coming out of the bolt that held the bearing on, on the passenger side. However on the drivers side that was making noise, there was no thread showing, indicating that it was not tightened down enough. The bolt was coming loose. We had to tighten down the large bearing bolt and then the rotor was no longer moving, and everything is now working fine.

that means your wheel bearings are worn.. if just tightening the bolt actually fixes it, then you are lucky.
