i seperated my tie rod with a pickle fork to change wheel bearing(NOT EASY) anyway i want to inject grease with a needle.does anyone know what the oem tie rods had for grease type?im told mixing different base greases is bad.thx for any feedback.

If you ripped the boot at all, just change the tie rod. If not, it’s supposedly greased for life.
I did my wheel bearings in the front recently and with having to disconnect the tie rod went ahead and changed the drivers side. Fairly easy as long as you keep the nut location on the stem in the same thread location so when you put on the new one it keeps your alignment. I recall a new tie rod ran me 24 buck from O'Rielleys which isn't to terrible. Shouldn't be that hard to get it free again after recently being apart. I use an aluminum or brass head mallet and tap the side of the tie rod knuckle while working the steering knuckle back and forth. Then back the nut off to the top of the threads and tap it down (again with a soft metal head mallet) and they usually pop right down without needing the fork. Either way it may be a bit easier then sorting on the right grease and not having to puncture the rubber boot.
