Well the tire noise is no longer a problem. Had 4 new tires put on my car today. And the cause of the noise was not the tread, because those tires had been on the back for so long, so had formed lumps and become uneven, causing the noise.

I just had a rotate and balance done on my car. Turns out I managed to mess up one of the tires in the back so now there is a wobble in the steering wheel. You can see the tread curve when spun on a balancer. the tire balanced out perfectly fine. I'm hoping it's not a rim problem, but it does not appear to be. I plan on getting a set of 4 cooper cs4 tires, to solve the lovely wobble in my steering. Aside from being out of round, the current tire is fine, just annoying to drive on.

I will think of a better signature later.
just move it back to the back.
I will if it gets too annoying, but as long as I keep my speed over 25mph it goes away, plus I want to keep an even wear on my tires. The cs4's look to be a very good tire, and i'm sick of the uniroyal tigerpaw's I have on now anyway, they just don't perform as well as I would like.

but the wear is already not even, and they will wear faster when "misplaced" to the current wear.
once the tire is past the point of an acceptable rotation, it is better off staying front or back until it wears out.
do you think all the wobbling etc you feel isn't wearing the tire funny?
Might be, i also need grip for the winter though and the old front just dont have it, still enough to be fine in the back. Tires are trashed from bad driving habbits anyway.

actually you should have the good tires in the rear for winter to keep the back end of the car behind you. On the front you can steer to compensate for lack of traction.
I know it, but the ones on the front now will wear down by winter so that the now back tires will be better off, and i will still have close to even wear. Thats if they dont get replaced before the snow falls.
