Tire size for 14 inch rim

      Hello

my tires are looking really low and im looking at a set of tires that are near new for 150 which is cheap.....

      however the size is P185-65 R 14 BF..... currently on my car I have 185/60/ r 14.....

In my book and on the door it says 185/60/r14...

would the 65 be a big deal and not fit....think it would rub on turns.... ect..

what do you the experts think....

      Thanks!

you should be fine. Just be careful, you will be going 3% faster than what the speedometer is showing.

well i got them as they are in good shape...

it looks like the car will ride a bit higher... not a big deal to me as long as it works....

i have to drive another 15 000km before i switch them over but now i dont have to panic when they run out of tread......

I ran 185/65R14 for a while with no problems. You'll be fine.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

its actually 18.5 mm added to the diameter of the tire.

if you have 3/4 of an inch, or 19 mm for you canadians, of clearance around your tire now you will be fine.

Re: Tire size for 14 inch rim

when i first got my aveo back in july of 2004 as a new car it came with kuhmo 185/65/14's on it. it drove really nice but sometimes it felt like it grabbed every little crack in the road. maybe it was just me being used to my 2002 suburban with the 265/70/17's bf goodrich longtrails and that truck drives really nice. at 50000 when the tires were almost slicks i put on the aveo 195/65/14 bridgestone hp50's. i'm gonna stick with the 195's on the car. i felt it improved the way the aveo handled the road.

Re: Tire size for 14 inch rim

195/65R14 is quite the jump, it's 1 3/4" larger diameter than stock. It may ride better but i'm guessing it handles a little sketchy with all that sidewall.
