somewhat for looks, if you get rims in the right size, style etc that really flow with the car, single pattern wheel look like they belong like it might have came that way from the factory.. OEM+ style.
But i have seen some wheels shatter around the bolt pattern with so many holes in them, mostly the dual 5 lugs. thats why the hubs are so thick anymore and you have to use the small special lugs. just to have enough "meat" in the rim to keep it from breaking.
i know all the cheaper wheels are typically dual drilled, but often you can find them in a single drill original (as all cheap wheels are copies of something else) for not much more, and it will give a cleaner look, and be a better quality rim..
but if your drifting, racing or anything else i know price matters, because when you smack the back wheel off a curb and break it when your sliding sideways through a turn, you want replacement wheels to be a cheap as possible.. and typically have a set (or two) sitting idle in the staging area.
