The adaptation parts Petrified.Rabbit is working on will allow you to use several different kinds of coilovers from several manufacturers as well as open up the possibilities of air suspension...I think clearence in the rear is where you would have a problem with that. Best to ask PacManAveo for that as his is completely bagged with on board air. I have a FAQ in the suspension section of the other board with all the lowering springs available for the Aveo and how much each one drops the front and rear.
Wolfman, you wanna post a link to the list with all those lowering springs (that's of course if adminds don't mind)?Quote:

Good thread. Not aware of any coilovers at the moment, but Eibach and H&R do make lowering springs. There's also the Ultra Racing chassis bars!
Sorry, I just finally read this today, here's a list of most of the lowering springs available for the Aveo. The only ones I don't have on here I think is B&G, and some crappy spring on eBay.

There's an old thread of xiaogary where he says he can get BC coilovers: viewtopic.php?f=12&t=2809
not sure whether this is still available
There is also GAB coilovers http://www.rsone.com.my/ecatalog2/index ... rod_id=355 , and in another thread there's mention of another place selling GAB SS coilovers
You can get GAB coilovers for the Aveo from RDYAutoCare, as for the BC ones that Xiaogary has...they are very nice top of the line coilovers, which is why they're like 1200 bucks I think if memory serves me right. His are modified from another car. Rabbit will have much cheaper coilovers available soon.
Yep, I just wasn't sure if Xiaogary still has those BC ones or what. When I found out about the old thread where he mentions those, I googled them and it seemed people who had them on other cars were very happy with them.Quote:

Pretty much. I thought the GAB's were like 700 bucks, but I can't remember...they were only height adjustable. No thanks.
here is my experience with them simplified to just the coil overs and shaved doe to buying a set :
backwards as emails do..

Thank you Raven,
Pardon my ignorance, but Rm is malaysian ringgits correct?
So the HA series is Rm2200 = @ $654 US, correct?
Is there an adjustable dampening series also available?
How much is shipping to the US? And are you willing to do that?
Thank you.

So I was close...right? I seem to remember talking to one of the mods on SG and I thought he told me around 700. But those coilovers are not the performance level I'm looking for, especially at that price. No, I'll wait till' yours come out so I can see how hard it's gonna be to break the threads loose for adjustment after winter up here and then upgrade to my nicer ones. I have some D2 RS coilovers out in the shed I scored in a trade a while back that I was gonna use on my MK2, but then I traded it. They are fully adjustable with 36 click dampening I think. They came with camber plates, but I don't think I'll be able to use those. The only gripe I have against them is they're purple...
Wolf, that's not a gripe, they'll match your HID's nicely!!! :D 8)
If you don't like them you could always tape off the brand name lettering on them and paint them black/silver to match the rest of your ride. ;) Plus, if you have them at the lowest setting, I don't think many people will be seeing them. :D  8)
Yeah, but I would know...and that's enough to bother me. 8) I'll do something about it...
i think it would work well with the whole rainbow theme you have going on there..
Dick.
Epoxy paint for springs/shocks works well... 8)

"self priming, all weather, rust & salt resistant" and gloss black is better than gloss purple.. ;)
Hmmmm, never heard of that. Touche' sir.
and it comes with a purple label
That smoothly transitions to black. 8) :DQuote:
