Just replaced both front wheel bearings on my girlfriend's 05 aveo, had it all back together, test drove it fine, then replaced front rotors and pads. Had a tight fit with the new pads, figured it was normal, but then realized the new rotor was touching the caliper mounting bracket. From what I can see, it looks like the hub went too far back into the bearing. Is that even possible? I pressed the bearing in until it touched the back of the steering knuckle and the snap ring fit in, then pressed in the hub gently until it stopped. Getting slightly frustrated with this car, just in the design of the parts. Why couldn't Chevy use a standard 3 bolt hub assembly or go back to greaseable bearings like every other car I've ever worked on? I'd be done by now and starting the resto on my CJ7.......
