You are probably long overdue....If you notice on new tires, there are some "Thread wear indicators". Little rubber lips between threads. Now if your current tires are eating thru those, it's time to change your tires.

Umm... when tread depth is too low?
stick an american penny in there... if the tread doesn't hit honest abe's head, you need new tires... check it in multiple spots on each tire.

also i was thinking getting yokohama avid trz tires, $468.52 CAD for the tires installed at active green and ross + their warranty and rotation.
i read that they are the best all season tires for the price. what would you suggest for around 100$ a piece?
