just bought some 17-7.5 wheels for my 08 aveo sedan... 6" backspacing. looks to be about a 38mm offset. havent got put on yet.. think i will have any strut clearance issues... i know the back will be fine.

The offset should be fine, I'm at a 37 and it's alright. However for the height? That might be a little problem. Only way to know is to test fit! Lots of people run 17s here so you should be alright.
what size tire?
tire size is 215-45/17
that will work as long as the spokes clear the caliper in front.

I just ordered my new wheels for summer... decided to save money so only went with 8" front and 9" rear..
was that sarcasm??????? i like the ride heigth... dont wanna go any lower. i would like to go with 8" or 9". dont wanna go to extreme on my everyday car.

@gamblesaveols...I like the stance that you want. I want that also for my aveo 2013 base model..I'm planning to change the stock wheels and tires too.. I'm planning on changing it from 175-70-14 to 215-45-17...According to "Classic67", it will fit..Please let me know if it fits on your unit..Thanks.
those will fit fine depending on your wheel offset and ride height..
