Will lowering suspension upgrades cause my car uneven tire wear?

I want to switch to Eibach springs, will the lower stance cause my car to wear my tires unevenly by changing the geometry? if so, what can I do about it? BTW, I had cut the springs in a couple of my rides, cut one coil at the same spot the spring ended, it droped about a inch and it rode/handle fine, so, I disagree with the 'cut coil bad thing', if done correctely and conservatively (that means cut 1 coil, not 3!!) I had no negative effects on my car. Now that sayd, performance coils are always better but sometimes when you don't have the cash u got to be creative...;)
Anyone have any imput od the HR, BM and Eibach springs? I got 17' with low pro tires.
Any other ideas on how to improve handling? I mean whats the best band for the buck?
Do those braces make a difference u can feel on the handling?

cut springs are the modifications of retards. spend the money for proper lowering springs.

a few things i have learned about cutting springs:

1. do not cut progressive rate springs, will not sit level, will not handle well.
2. slow cuts with a cut of wheel, do not, i repeat do not build or introduce heat to the springs. this will make the brittle.
3. always be sure to install (or inspect) before cutting. i prefer only cutting dead coils (coils that touch while under weight).
4. match cuts to factory mounting divots in the seats
5. keep an eye on them after install.

i cut the h&rs on my aveo, road nice for a little less than 2 years, but the upgrade to coilovers was worth it (and only cost $200 more than just the springs)

That's harsh, if YOU don't know what ur doing, DON'T CUT! I did and it worked fine... Not going to do the same on this one, I want better performance not just a lower ride.

Thnks rabbit, I agree 100% with you... I always cut them the way u mention and had never had a issue.

I cut my stock springs.

Cut one coil from the front and one from the rear, better ride quality than my H&R's, but the stance wasn't 'right'.

Looks like u screwed up during the cut or ur springs were worn/fading already...

cut a single coil from the top.. springs had 60k miles on them when i cut them :-p

My aveo has 17s with 205/40 r17 tires, after rims were on, I did an alignment, no issues, a year and a half later, i ordered eibach springs and KYB shocks and struts (eibach and KYBs ordered the same day), following week, eibachs arrived, I installed the eibachs put car on alignment rack, no issues, even with the lowering springs all measurement were within stock specs, 5 months later when the KYBs finally arrived, I installed the shocks and struts with the eibachs, again, I put my aveo on the alignment rack, everything still within spec. last week, I double checked the alignment because I was taking a 5 hour drive, everything was still within spec. the only tire wear I get is from the rear and that is due to the factory spec neg camber, one of these days I am going to order the rear camber shims

ive only had my h&r springs for around 2 months, but i believe they have close to OEM feel and advertise the biggest drop (1.5") of any spring. you really should check out the coilover thread, for around $400 and a little modification you can just put adjustable coilovers on, after buying springs i wish i just waited and did that
