Sounds like they'll fit if you haven't lowered the car.

      You're speedometer/odometer would read 8% too slow.

I put a set of 195/55-15s on the GF's Aveo and they do rub at full lock if the suspension is compressed.

Yes, you should rethink about getting those tires. There are better options you can choose from. It might work if you are having your car lowered though.

I run a 205/50r16 during Spring , summer, fall. Then I use a 185/70r14 during the winter. Both fit fine.
As far as throwing off your speedometer, just put a GPS in the car and compare the vehicle speed with the
speedometer. Mine is off about 3 mph @ 65 and about 4-5 mph @ 70.

Rule of thumb. Stock size is 185/60/14 outside diameter needs to remain the same and to do this the tread with (185) can go up one (195), aspect ratio (60) needs to go down 1 (55) and wheel size(14) go up one (15) 195/55/15 205/50/16 and so on

I have 16's on my 2006 aveo 5 and they are great with stock suspension. I tried 17's for a while but they rubbed a little on front during sharp turns.
