Hopefully we'll get together one more time maybe before I leave for Florida and take some pics. Ruby has a pretty sweet A/V setup going right now, with the PS2, nav, ipod, etc.

Seems like I'm a little late to the party.
I'm from Rochester. I live up in Charlotte. I think I have the same color aveo as Ron E.

I'm adding cruise to it tomorrow hopefully. Maybe I'll see you guys sometime. But if I cruse a car its usually my 78 monza spyder, noT my rather stock '06 aveo svm.

      Re: Rochester, NY

I'm still alive... not in Rochester currently, but I'll be back for Christmas. I'll also probably be back there for about a month in June. I'm trying to do a rotation with my family doctor and a few other docs in the area, so I might be there a few more months too. I really don't have much done to my car, just tint and slightly debadged. I'd do more, but I'm already $150k in debt and I've still got 2 more years of school left!

      Re: Rochester, NY

You'll find things to do and friends for sure. Rochester can be as cool as anyplace.

There's a few drag strips around. Spencer speedway is closest to rochester.

There's 2 others about 45 minutes away...One in Lancaster, NY. I've never been to that one but
I've seen it from the Thruway as I drove past, looks pretty popular. I think its an 1/8 miler.

There's a 1/4 mile track in Leicster, Ny. Thats a cool one I've been to. All kinds of cars.

Sometimes in the RIT parking lot on sundays there are SCCA races.

There's plenty of tuners around here, all the places you mentioned should be hopping from late April on.

While your in Rochester, dont forget to try Nick Tahou's Garbage Plate.

Get a real one (might be called steve tahou's now) Its on Lyell Ave.

Go in, right up to the counter and say "one cheeseburg plate, mac, homefries, everything, to go", just like that. (or say 'for here' if you want to eat it there).

If your in the mood for a cheeseburger and fries, you will flip at how f**kin good this thing is.

It comes piled on a plate all crazy, hence the name garbage plate. Its only around here in Rochester.

I think you can look it up online.

You'll find some bud's to hang with in no time.

There's all the stuff of a big city here...shopping, great radio stations, clubs, places to go and not to go..
But its small enough that everything is close by and easy to get to.

Dont speed....you'll see, people drive alot more relaxed here than say Highway 95 in Maryland.

NYS troopers are freakin everywhere with radar traps.

And then there's the Lake, the Wine Country, Excelent driving roads in any direction outside of town...

      Its a cool place.

      Re: Rochester, NY

      SCCA=sports car club of america.

      There's local chapters everywhere.

All kinds of cars from stock to prepped, race around a track of cones for the fastest lap times.
These events are called 'Solo II'.

See it here, your gonna flip if you never knew about this, http://www.flr-scca.com/

Oh, and RIT, is a college, Roch. institute of Tech. ,

In past years they also set up events in the parking lots of AC Delco,(Delphi) and Xerox.
