I switched from att to vzw and its worlds better. service is better and the customer service reps are way more friendly. i hate att for the reason that their customer service is crap and their service here in chicago sucked balls.

dennis-good luck with ur tests and apt hunts!

They're going to start charging based on cumulative bandwith usage... So if you watch TV on the internet, or download movies etc, you'll get absolutely screwed. They have rates that charge $15/month for 1GB/month usage, and $75/month for 100GB/month. It is around $1/GB you go over for the $75 plan, with a maximum overage charge of $75. So if you're watching netflix HD over the internet, you could be paying around $150/month. Absolutely retarded.

There is a lack of competition in Rochester, so basically they found they could charge whatever they wanted to screw people. They say "it won't affect most users", but for people like me who easily download 100GB/month from iTunes and Hulu (not to mention various other sources...), it would be absolutely horrible.

so is "Time Weenie" the only company that provides internet in rochester?

i was so pissed yesturday at my internet company in canada, i pay 30$ a month my limit is 10gb/month, and it used to be that if you go over they just send you a warning, and no extra cash, what they started to do this month is for every gb you are over extra 2.50$ is charged.

i was glad im moving and would not have to deal with that BS, now i find out that you guys got it bad also.

I think Frontier provides DSL service. I have no idea how they are as a company. My family has had Time Warner for 8 years and are now considering switching to Frontier.

Time Weenie has deceided it's in their best interest to NOT go forward with the increased rates based on the amount of protests going on. So unlimited use for a set fee, for the time being.
