There's no point to this mod running a open filter in the engine bay. The air temp in there is most likely higher than the coolant running though the TB.

Are you ****ing kidding me? Coolant temp in under pressure and runs much higher than engine bay temp, upwards to 200-220 deg F.

The header will put out 6-700*F easy, that coupled with the air coming though the rad and the block.......All your doing with that filter is sucking up hot air, defeating the purpose of the bypass.

CIA with the intake pipe/TB insulated, than I can see bypassing the coolant.

The exhaust doesn't go into the engine bay. Sure it's hot but underhood temps never get as hot as the coolant.
Put a remote thermometer by the stock airbox. Typical underhood temps rarely get higher than 160-170 F. So long as it's cooler than the coolant, the bypass does something.

+1. The way I see it is unless it's cold/cool outside it only really helps until the heat from the engine transfers over to the TB. Now if it's cold/cool out, you have a CAI, and phenolic spacers preventing engine heat soaking into the TB then this mod will give you the biggest advantage. Being in Arizona summer right now without phenolic spacers I know that this mod probably only helps for the first 10mins after warm-up.
