in picture # 3 you have a black, yellow and green wire in a plug at the very top, i'm fairly sure this is the clock spring connection.
You need to trace that black wire back to the next plug (toward firewall) and tell us what is there. That section of harness is where the 09+ guys have been tapping into the cruise in the us.
You are right it seems to be the clockspring, i traced the wires, the black one seems to go to the plug behind knee panel (maybe it's the horn) and the others seems to be for airbag:

yellow case wire harness is always airbag related.
is that plug where the black wire goes? i see a brown and silver wire on the other side of it, are those eliminated inside that connection?

according to the Shop Manual i have access to, this is Connector X202-(I/P Harness to Clock Spring, the Air Bag Connector known as X201 is routed higher up in the Steering Column)

THIS is what I suspect Farru1981's Connector X202 is. and it looks like Cruise Control may be Quite Impossible for him Unfortunately...
might just have to jump him to the ecu wires?

the ECU is Located out in the Engine Compartment, near the Underhood Fuse Box. but I'll check the Pinout of the APP Sensor Connector with the Manuals I have Access to.Quote:

alright Farru, I have one more RPO Question for you: do you have the RPO Code "WHB" (its the Code for the GMLAN Communication Bus) if you say Yes, there's still a chance to add Cruise. if not, it looks like GM has made it QUITE Impossible for you to have Factory Installed Cruise Control. because according to the Manuals I have access to, The Cruise Control Logic for the US Spec Aveo is NOT in the PCM like everybody thought: its ALL Run through the Instrument Panel Cluster, and the ONLY way to have all the pieces to add Cruise is if you have the GMLAN Communication Bus.
As you can see at the private message i don't have that RPO code so i can't have a factory cruise control. I will have to look for an aftermarket one.

I have a coverplate where the switch goes (in steering wheel) and I popped it out to look inside, so I would still need the clockspring and bracket. Does anyone have a part number for clockspring and bracket? How much tougher is it to install this way as opposed to cutting into the column cover and running 2 wires. Oh btw I have 2 grey wires in my harness, does it matter which one I splice into if I choose to take the easy route?Quote:

Finally got mine done. I didn't go the full install because the other parts I needed were $416 before tax and shipping. I did mine a little different I took side cutters and cliped off the plastic posts on the inside of the switch so it would sit flush. I also moced it more to the top I couldn't get my finger between the wiper arm and switch. Thanks to all that helped.

I´m an Argentinean owner of an 2011 G2 notchback (Sedan) Chevrolet Aveo.
I´m trying to install the Cruise Control and Audio Control in my car. Here these features are not available neither as an option.
I see that there are too many different wiring diagrams. As far as I can see, you connected your cruise switch to this connector here, right? :

what wires from the cruise unit, do you plug to the car wires? also would it fit mine, Canadian aveo5 2010 manual,
Aveos from 2006-2011 are equipped with Electronic Throttle Control, which Eliminates the Manual Cable Connection between the Driver's Foot and the Engine; and since the Main throttle is driven by a Servo motor now, it eliminated the need for a separate Cruise Control Servo Motor. and since your Aveo5 is the same year as my Sedan (2010) as long as you have RPO C98 which is the Option for the GMLAN Network Bus, you Should be able to use the pictures i have posted earlier in this thread to equip your Aveo5 with Cruise Control.Quote:

the wires you need to tap into are the Gray wire on Pin number 4, and the brown wire on Pin number 7. (the Pins in question are in an 8 way connector just above the Data Link Connector; remove the Knee Bolster to get to this connector easily.)Quote:

I just bought a complete steering column from a 09 (mine is an 09 as well). Mine is an aveo5 the new-used column came from a coupe (ebay). All I needed was the clock spring, cruise switch, bracket for cruise switch and steering wheel. My steering wheel had the tabs but was not drilled and tapped for the switch bracket so I just went the easy route and used the steering wheel too. It was $100 shipped to my house, I felt it was worth it for factory location. However the clock spring was not guaranteed but it was good. The switch was actually not working. The on/off worked, resume worked, set would not send a signal. I took the micro switch apart cleaned and it worked fine after that. Pretty simple
So it's the two outside connections on the switch. Now which is brown, and which is gray?

I have a chevrolet AVEO LT PETROL Manual January 2009 and I would like to put it but nobody knows answer to how to tell if my car is "DRIVE BY WIRE" or not.
then I would like to know too (if my car was drive-by-wire) if to put any button on the 2 wires, and this officer as a cruiser or change is necessary to purchase the kit (which I say that Chevrolet Spain not sell anything that does not come with the car or have purchased them I installed them so I'll have to ask GMpartsdirect, if needed)
