I used 3 coats of niteshades on my tail lights, and they look completely black untill you turn the lights on or hit the brakes, than the light shines right through it, and is still a red brake light. My friends brother is a state trooper here in NY, and he started saying something about them untill I turned the lights on and the black almost dissapeared, after that he said they're fine. The light from the flash on my camera phone is enough to see through the film on it, so its not too bad

Yea i think you can pick up a can at autozone for about $10 and gives you more than enough spray to paint both tailights.

Yeah, you can usually get a few cars out of a can. When you put it on, just make sure to clean the surface really well and only put down extremely light coats, because the spray runs really easily.

And thank you, the picture where it was dirty was during the winter when the roads were all crappy and still full of salt. Damn NY.

Re: Cheap way to tint your turnsignals

so, what is better to use?

      window tint or vht nightshades??

i was talking to my friend and he said window tint is bad because it is meant for using on the inside of cars.. i dunno if that makes a difference or not.

i was also thinking to myself though, the nightshades spray will probably get damaged more easily by rocks and stuff than the window tint..

      opinions please

      Film tint can be removed.

VHT Nite shade is pretty much permanent.

      Film is even.

You have to pay attention to what you're doing with the can not to get one of them darker than the other or not to let it run...

Mine are just painted to match the body color and disconnected altogether...
