i looked at it. the dome light is a good mod but when is it going to be up his last post was late 2005
You did WHAT? to your Aveo? HAHAHAHAHA
I have looked at other dome light mods and I know the reason why the dome light wasn't updated, it's impossible to to install the extender unless you plan on highly modifying the dome light assembly. It just won't work with those kinds of circuits.
There would have to be someone who designs one for the Aveo. I'll look into it.
EDIT
Well that wasn't too long. Found a nice website with one. I think this is going to be a summer project. Maybe I can make a couple and see if ppl will buy them.

why the hell would you waste so much time on something so insignificant?
If I can do it, why not? I don't have much tools, I can't fiberglass, I can't paint...But if there is one thing I can do is electronics. Might as well start somewhere.
Might start installing remote starters too soon, a lot of demand for those. Especially here.

Put me down for both. i like it.

Well I'm not gonna do this until summer at least, I'm moving, then going to work in Ontario for 4 months. Perhaps I'll have time to make a couple over there. As for remote starters, you need to come see me :P

I am actually bypassing my Dome light by installing an S-10 overhead console in my car. I has extra 2 spot lamps for my rear seat passengers (I have a 3 1/2 year-old daughter that loves to ride in my car), so its not totally black in the rear.
With my tint as dark as it is (35% all around 5% on the windshield - got the City Police tint installer to do mine as well) Inside the car at night is pitch black.
I'm also adding some hidden LED lamps around the car for courtesy lighting, in a mellow purple color.
Pretty cool. You could simply use LEDs in the rear dome light, you wouldn't have to sacrifice the stock one and have plenty of light
