your drive by wire, but your 08 is 09+ spec here, so you need to do the 09+ install, not the firewall wires like 04-08.

I now have a fulling working cruise control !!
Are there any instructions for a 2005 Aveo hatchback. I know it's not the plug and play easy operation like the 2006 and later, but it will cost 430.00 to have it installed. Cheaper than a speeding ticket, I guess :)

I have an '06 Aveo5 hatchback and just installed cruise control into it this weekend. After looking at the different locations where other people had their cc switch installed wasn't very appealing to me. I tried a different location that I haven't seen posted yet so I want to share what I did. I have mine attached to the speedometer housing.

I like where I put the CC Switch, out of the way and no where near the windshield wiper lever which makes it very safe to operate. It is in very good view and easy to reach.
Everything went back together very easy as there was enough room for the screws/nuts and wires. Took the car out for a drive and the CC Switch works flawless. Hopefully others will follow, it is by far a safer location, unless you want to buy a clock spring for the steering wheel. $$$$
That's a really nice spot! I 'modified' mine as well to fit the contour, but I went behind the windshield stalk.
