      The cruise control DIY thread.

Has anyone else done the DIY cruise?. I priced out the cruise control switch from all our local GM dealers and it comes out to a grand total of $38.00!! CDN.
I plan on doing this with in the next two weeks I will let you know how it turns out, any feedback on your cruise control installs would be great.

gm raised parts prices after the bail out, as did chrysler. I guess that was their attempt to show profit

Just finished my install today, way too easy. I used part # 96813273 which the dealership told me was the correct switch for the 08. Only cost me $42 for the switch, and I used some scrap wire to install it.

I mounted it to the drivers seat belt latch, it is firmly in place and is conferable to push.

      Use these 2 pins

Butt connectors worked great as terminal ends, just pinched them a little with some duckbills

it should not void your warranty, but that does not mean the dealership wont tell you it will.

Ima about to order this switch from gmpartsdirect.com and it came out to like 32.XX shipped for the #96433106 and will be going on a 2008 hatch. Hope all works out because Iam starting to get pissed that I keep getting warnings from DPS and highway patrol for going 5-9 MPH over the speed limit when Iam cruising along and dont notice how fast Iam going at that moment when they pass by. Ill let you all know how it works out.

I am surprised, you all seem to be using the steering wheel mount switch in odd places when stalk type switches are available:
