Question Cruise Control to European Aveo

      Hello everyone!

This is my first post, and would like to thank you all in advance for all the contect we have available in this forum, for free, and the awesome attention the Vets give to newbies like me.

      Lets get into it:

I have a 2011 Aveo LS 1.4 from Spain (maybe France, but definitely European).

I was looking into the DIY Cruise Control threads, and ordered the proper part via ebay.
The thing is that when i was going to cut the cables to connect the module to them, I found that my car has a different connector that you all have.

      I attach some pictures.

It should be the brown and grey wires on the connector above the accelerator.

Hello PoisonIvy, and thanks for helping me!

So you mean that i should not tap into the connector just behind the knee panel but into the connector above the accelerator pedal.

If I understood correctly, then looking at the image i posted above (2nd), you can see there are 2 grey wires. Which one is the correct one?

Imagine the next diagram is the connector:
      ...1234
      A XXXX
      B X....X

      I should tap into B4 and B1?
      Or B4 and A1?

      Thanks again!

No problem Ezanchi. A1 and B4 I believe.

Take a look at Shocker's video...

Yeah I saw that video even before geting into this forum, but unfortunately discovered later that my car had a different connector than Shocker's.

So in Shocker's video you can see that the connector he has right behind the knee panel is the one I have above my accelerator pedal.

In my opinion that should still be fine. Just wire it up roughly at first and take the car for a drive.

      Hello again guys,

I just tried as PoisonIvy told me to do, but nothing happened.

I mean, thats not necesary a bad thing, as the Airbag didn't explode (i read somewhere that there was some risk of it happening), but neither the CC did work...

I tried both (Grey to 1st pin of the CC and Brown to 4th pin of CC) and (Brown to 1st pin of the CC and Grey to 4th pin of CC) and nothing worked. The car didnt change at all: if i stoped pressing the accelerator it would slowly decrease its speed, just like normal.

      What I did was:
      1-Get to 40 kmh
2-Press de middle button on the CC to Turn it on
3-Press the SET button on the CC

      Nothing happened after that...

What do you thing may be happening?

Were you definitely above 39km/hr? In the manual it says it doesn’t engage at speeds below 39.

Is a ground activated switch? Meaning you ground out the wires (called active low) to signal the computer to turn on cruise control.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....
