Were you definitely above 39km/hr? In the manual it says it doesn’t engage at speeds below 39.

Is a ground activated switch? Meaning you ground out the wires (called active low) to signal the computer to turn on cruise control.

Computers are funny and telling them an on or off depends on the signal. So if you take the green wire and put it to ground instead of the brown wire that is a an active low signal. Do you have a volt meter to measure the voltages on the wires?

By the way, why if the switch has 4 pins we only use 2?
2 pins are the signals, the other is ground and dimmer light.
Electrical hacking 101
1) turn on car
2) measure voltage of each wire to ground, record the color and voltage
3) turn on the lights and repeat each step, this should find the lighting circuit.
4) turn off the lights
5) if the wire measures zero to ground then that might be ground
6) if the wire measures a positive voltage to ground that could be the signal.
Do you have a wiring schematic?

I have very little experience with electrical works, that's why I'm struggling a bit to follow you.
