Disable Day-Time Running Lights?

Does anyone know how to disable daytime running light. I have an 09' Aveo hatch and I just got 12000K HIDs for it and I dont want to burn them out, because they're on all the time. I live in Alaska and we are moving into the time of year where her shortly we will be in 24hour daylight for the next several months, so I have no need for daytime running light in the sun.

I can't see the other posts do I have to ask,How do I take them off on a '11 aveo? Here in Puerto Rico they don't bother too much for them.

When I disabled my DRL's it was just a fuse under the dash, remove the fuse and your DRL's are deactivated! Hope this helps

Is there anyway to disable the DRL function of the stock ambers and have them exclusively as blinkers only? Installing 4 fog lights so It'd be more ideal without the ambers as they'd only be consumed during blinkage.

Edit; Figured it out. By modifying the 1157 Bulb and disabling the always on element you can do it. I haven't done it to mine yet but I will soon. One of the little globs on the bottom will have to be disabled and it's hard to explain which one without photos and will look different on different brands.
