      Door-panel Makeover:

      Door-panel Makeover:

Lots of people out there are painting their interiors these days, but I am a little more old school so I have opted to go with vinyl.
I am staying with the Red and Black theme for Red Max.
Using Vinyl does require you to tare the door panels down to the individual components, but at the end you have a factory finish.
I have added a few pick of the rework. It took me 6 hours to do the job, but I do have training in door and seatwork. This is something that does require time and planning if you are a first timer.

Perfect I have been waiting for someone to do this.

I do upholstery as my job, but I have been to busy/lazy to do anything to the interior of my car yet. Can you just tell me if the large piece that you did and I will be recovering is screwed together with the panel, or is it like everything else these days and melted together?

That actually looks pretty good. I'm not sure I would go with red, but that's simply a matter of opinion. Overall it looks better than it did and it looks like you did some good work as well. congrats... this just makes me want to pick up some alcontara for that rainbow looking section even more.

The door panel sections are part screwed together and part welded (sonic-welded).
I use a drill to remove the sonic-welds, but you must only remove enough to free the pieces. When reassembling the door you replace the sonic-welds with new short screws with large washers. You have to be very careful that the replacement screws do not go through the door panel or you’re going to cry!

Your red may not before everyone, but that's the look I'm going with for the car (Red and Black), These two colors work well together.
For your car I'd go Lime Green and Black :P

My girlfriend's grandfather was leaning on my car and putting a good amount of force on my 3/4 rolled down front window... I was about to cry from the anticipation of something breaking/ scratching/ denting. The aveo isn't exactly the strongest car in the world LOL.

do you figure an 09 interior would be a retro swap for my 05?
