Good things to know when you are thinking of lowering your car.

There are a few things you should research before dropping your car
-How low do you want to go
-How much are you willing to spend
-Are you wanting a good stance but still rides nice
-Are you confident in your work
-Do you have the right tools

I could go on but this what you need to think about before you start buying stuff.

There are a few routes you can go

      Eibach 38119.140 Pro-Kit Lowering Springs
Pro-Kit Lowering Springs 2006-08 Chevy Aveo (1.3" Front 1.0" Rear Drop)

      H&R lowering springs
      1.5 front 1.4 rear

Both kits are going to run you between 200-300. If you go this route you do not need to do any fabrication you ( can ) run your stock suspension parts but id would advise getting new front struts just for better break in.

The second route is coilovers frm a MK1,MK2,Mk3 golf Mk1s are going to get you the lowest then it goes up from there. Here is a pic of what you are looking for.

Most common coilovers are raceland and rokkor but you get what you pay for the cheapest route isnt alwaysthe best. There is moderate fabrication to install these MK1s are the hardest to install. If you choose coils you needa kit from petrified rabbit to retrofit the swaybar linksto run the OEM swaybar.

Here are the links to install the lowerings springs and coilovers ( Note H&R springs install the same as Eibach springs)

I have owned both coilovers and now run H&R so i can tell you that coilovers are very stiff but you can get really low for not alot of money I switched for personal reasons this is not a thread to bash coilovers or lowering springs. Good luck and enjoy the ride.

most coils have adjustability? can set them as stiff or soft as you like depending on what you get. also bc makes coils for our cars now
