400F would probably ruin the paint. Sounds like we have a winner, I'm thinking this mod may move up on my list.

I will think of a better signature later.
So I did mine for the first time this weekend....it was interesting. Lol.
Off the bat, the first thing I realized was that the 10-12 minutes at 170 wasn't nearly enough. The temperature was fine, but not nearly long enough. Also, if once you have taken them out and its taken you a little longer to get them apart, don't be afraid to stick it back in the oven to loosen the glue up some more. It's better then trying to pry something that doesn't want to come apart and then breaking it.
When you're removing everything before you put it in the oven, make sure you look for all the screws. I missed one and when I was in the process of seperating the two, I broke a piece of the reflector. I was able to glue it back, but still a double check doesn't hurt.
The painting process wasn't too bad. I did do a couple of layers for the paint. However, I did have issues around the orange reflecting part where teeny pieces of chrome are still sticking out. Also, I can see a few chips on the headlights that bother me, but nobody else probably will even notice. Still agrevates me.
Biggest thing is to take your time. Some people can do it in 3 hours while others it might take more. When I do it again, I'll definitely take the whole process a lot slower.
Oh yeah, my silicone sealant tube broke open somehow. That was a lovely mess.
Anyway, I want to do this again and I will but for now here's a few pictures. It's definitely fun.
Painted the grill black as well.
Nice work, looks like your took a rather comfortable approach to it. I always wear an old t-shirt and jeans.

Do the reflectors come off? Im pretty sure they do. If so I wanna re-do it at some point and take them off when I do.
yes the reflectors are tabbed and pop out.
its amazing how good the black headlight look on a yellow aveo. nice work.
DANG IT. I totally rushed though. It's no where near as good as it could be. The good thing is that I know what I'm doing this time and now once I remove the reflector, it'll be easy to fix it. Maybe in a few weeks.
how long did it take you?
maybe i should clarify. not so much as rush but over react when something didn't go right which in turn would cause a nice chain reaction of other things going wrong (ie. the silicone sealant exploding in my hand.) most of the extra time was spent fixing things lol. It'll be much easier next time.
