with the 07 model you undo the 3 screw (1 inside the boot 2 on the tail gate were the lid closes) then there is 2 plugs on the outter edges just pull it off. ull need to use abit of force but be careful not to damage the paint!

I'm having a hard time with this as well.
      I have the sedan.

The manual says to just undo the two bolts on the tail light when you pop the trunk, and pull it out.

i removed the two bolts and it wont come out. I dont see any other bolts on the light either. I removed the carpet in the trunk to look at the back on the tail light, but i didnt see anything to unscrew.

Yeah I tried on the 08 and it won't budge, i think there is a screw in the corner of the tail light. Unless there is a certain way to remove it. Will try again more when the car dries. I'll take some pics and maybe have a how to.

I'll be in Orland Park/Lockport/Blue Island areas from Jan.3 to the 13th. I'll probably make a stop at my old high school too, Br. Rice (in Oak Lawn).

I went to the dealer yesterday to get the firing order, and schedule an oil change and I asked them there.

They said that there directions say to just unscrew the two screws on the lamp when you open the trunk. he said you may just have to push a bit harder.

      Aussie Barina -
I didnt see any other screws behind the lamp.
I pulled the carpet back too and didnt see anything.
