How to remove the manual gear knob on my Aveo

Anyone knows how to remove the shift knob on my Aveo (photo). I need to replace it with an after market one

People already answered you in your other thread. It is not removable as far as we know.

Noone here could helm me. So I took a risk to dissembled the whole unit and put the knob into boiling water so that the rubber knob becomes soft. Then I pulled it off quite easily. Here is the new shift knob I installed. Does it look better?

Is really necessary to disassemble and how hard was that? or do you think a heat gun could work?

I took mine out and used the hot water trick. It's not hard to take the lever out. There's a little silver clip on the bottom of the shaft you gotta pop off and it slides right out.

I'm wondering if I can use a torch to get the original knob off? It seems very complicated to remove the whole piece and I have a pice that can tighten to the stick I just wanna get it off so that the extension can go on the end also my car grinds a lot when I put it in reverse any ideas anything helps I've put 4k into this car
