07 Aveo, A/C does not work, its all there it just doesnt work.
When we put the temp control on blue and vent for fresh air, (not recirc), air is hotter than outside air. I know its not going to be cold, but why is it hotter?

I think the system actually creates heat when it's working, due to the compressor pumping and pressurizing the system. I'm not sure what your symptoms could mean for the part(s) being the issue though.
Outside air is sucked in near the engine and it's slightly hotter than outside air. Also the air in your airbox has heated up just by sitting and that is going to be warmer too. A lot depends on long you are running it. Once you get your car moving with a decent outside air temp it should be feeling good.

This is aside from the A/C not working thats why I wondered if there is something else wrong...
Check near the air intake hose to make sure the HVAC pressure switch wires haven't broken off from the connector. These wires get brittle over time from heat and the harness is a bit too short, thanks to GM cheapness.
Define HOT? Possible the hot/cold deck controls are not working. To me hot is the hot air mixing in with the outside air and heating up. So that would be greater than 80F. In the center are the controls if you remove the stereo you can access the wire over the hot/cold deck. Make sure that wire is moving the damper that controls the HEAT deck.
Here is a picture of the heater core you can see the dampers on the outside.

The vent air is considerably hotter than outside air,, 80 degrees or possibly hotter!! I ll check the control cable, thanks!
the other end of the cable of the Blend Door (the Bottom mechanism, AKA how you control the HVAC's temperature) is actually visible when you look underneath the dash from the driver's footwell without having to remove any parts. the top mechanism is for the Mode Door (where the air is actually directed.) I will have to agree though that the blend door may be stuck in the HOT Position.Quote:
