push start ignition
So, I was brainstorming ways to "pimp my ride" when I thought of this. I've done some research and it seems like you still need the key for most installs. I want to toss my key away. I can use the fob to lock the car, or unlock, then push a button to start. Is there any way to get one of the eBay type buttons to work where the cylinder is now? If I need to put a toggle to switch the car on, then push button to start that would be fine. I'm just wondering if it is at all possible

it would work but why would you do it if you short somthing out its a whole nother issue. our keys have chips in them so thats an issue it would be nice dont get me wrong but it would just make it easier to steal it.. but who would steal an aveo haha
-
Who would steal an aveo? I would....especially yours ;) lol
-
mine is slow and low not your style of car my freind.

I have power locks and a factory alarm so I'm not worried about someone stealing it. And btw, our keys don't have chips in them. I work at a hardware store and have cut quite a few aveo keys lol
Also, fun little tip for those that want a spare. Tell the hardware store people to use a tr40 blank

i got a blank made at walmart and i tried to use it and the dash lights would flash at me and the car wouldn't start. but if yours dosnt then **** it get an audi or Mercedes flip key those are sick

That's strange. A girl I work with has a 2006 aveo and hers doesn't have a chip either

thats what i thought so i had to get one from the dealer for 60 dollars :violent2:

It's definitely my style :) I'd have one slamburglar and one rally slut lol

I just had a couple keys made for my 2008, $5 a piece, and they work.
