RC car style antenna replaced with shark fin!!!

      Hey all.

I am writing this post in hopes that someone can give me some insight towards replacing my factory antenna with a low profile shark fin style one and if so how they accomplished this and what their results were if they are satisfied with the change and if you'd do it again.

The main reason I want to swap this thing is I think it looks goofy for starters and for second if I'm feeling lazy I would like to take her thought an auto car wash.

The rubber cover on my factory antenna was all cracked and looked crappy, so I bought another one that was a lot shorter from the parts store, but I wasn't getting the main radio stations I listen to clearly (lots of static) so I had to go back to a longer antenna.
Make sure that it fits properly because mine did not and it leaked into the car with heavy rain, luckily I caught it within minutes of it happening.
