      Shift Linkage Adjustment

I have an 08 Aveo with a 5 speed standard. I changed the clutch and now I'm having trouble aligning the shifter. Is there a key to aligning it? I put it in first, then positioned the shifter where thought it should be . Still not right. Any thoughts out there?

it take a few tries. I would say you need to hold is in position with a person holding the shifter still, then "preload" the rest of the arms and such, Then tighten do adjustment on the rod coming out of the fire wall. It took me 2-3 times myself. And I marked it ahead of time.

Did you verify the pivot on the rear tranny mount is correct?

Not sure how to verify the pivot. There is also no adjustment on the linkage assembly. Its just two arms on pivot balls. Basically I put the car in 1st, release the lock bolt then align the shifter where I think it should go. You're right, it'll probably take a few attempts. Luckily it's fairly easy to reach.
