Speedometer instrument cluster from miles to kms

Hi all,

I have to replace the instrument cluster of my Aveo (Sedan) from 2007 because the display of the odometer is broken. I found a replacement but does anyone know how to set the speedometer from miles to kilometers?

I went to the dealer garage here in the Netherlands, but they can't figure it out. The speedometer in the original cluster of the car shows kilometers. The way it has to be in this country.

Is it even possible to change it from miles to kilometers? Or will I have to find an other cluster?

Hi Dennis,
is it about just the letters "Km" or "Mi" visible in the dsplay or is it the mesured distance that is wrong?

Hi, thank you for your response.

It”s about the speed on the speedometer. It’s showing 32 km/h when I drive 50 km/h. So the garage suspects that it is showing miles/h instead of km/h but don’t know how to switch it from miles/h to km/h.

I can't help with the display you have, it may be "software" to change the speed/numbers km/mi.
I needed a more easily readable speedo and bought a supplimentary GPS Speedo from https://www.speedhut.com/, you can choose the range and calibration.

Hello Dennis,
im not sure what kind of display your speedometer has but if it’s analog like how it is in my “06 Aveo depending on where the replacement gauge cluster came from it should have both like here in the United States as you can see that Miles Per Hour is in high white lettering and Kilometers Per Hour is in a smaller orange font I hope this helps you also sorry for the bad image it was a recent one I took for tracking my MPG
