old thread, but i realized after reading that article, that this is how i drive everyday.
The last time I needed to double clutch was with a '65 Chevy truck I had 30 years ago with a Saginaw 3 speed that had an unsynchronized first gear!
you should always double clutch, dont granny shift

i used to street race back in the early 90s.. before i had common sense, and respect of others lives.
Why bother double clutching when clutch boosting or rev matching achieves similar results? Matching for smoother changes, boosting for more available power after downshifting. Or am I missing something?
