Wrote a poem again out of boredom. Hope you like, as you can see its more car enthusiast oriented. Peace.
10 Seconds
6 months.
Thats how long it took to build.
Long hours spent with a wrench in hand;
Oil soaked clothes and hands.
Ordering, waiting, ordering, and waiting.
Pistons, valves, cams, gaskets.
The day has come to bring it all together-
in one smooth harmony of man and machine.
You await your turn patiently.
The smell of burnt rubber and exhaust fumes fill your nostrils,
making the anticipation greater.
One last glance at the guages;
Everything checks.
Your heart becomes one with the thump-
of the valves opening and closing.
As you rev the motor, your heart races faster.
Time to take up your position at the line,
you release your anxiety through the gas pedal:
VROOM>VRRRROOOOMMMMM
Intensley eyeing the starting lights,
clutch in, raise the RPMs.
6 months
Oil soaked clothes and hands.
You put it in gear.
6 months.
Long hours with a wrench in hand.
The light goes green:
Mash the gas! Clutch out!
One swift movement-
Your head snaps back-
You dont breathe-
You dont have a heartbeat.
The tires screech and the turbo winds up.
Redline! Clutch in! Second gear!
The track becomes a blur,
with your goal getting closer.
You barely notice the scream of your motor;
Redline! Clutch in! Third gear!
110>115>120>125
Finish!
You breathe deeply, your heart beats again.
6 Months, for 10 seconds.
