For my fellow Canadians...
I'm always shopping for cars in my head... new and used. So I just came across the 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage. The base model ES with 5 speed manual is priced at $9998 + freight/fees = $11,478. BUT you can also get 0% for 84 months, AND you get a winter tire package (tires/wheels/tpms). I'm sure the dealerships will all want to charge a documentation fee of some sort, but that's around $160 a month after taxes, out the door, for a new car. The Mirage isn't going to be confused with a new Mercedes, but if you were looking for basic transportation, can handle a few warm days without a/c, and actually know how to drive a stick, that's not bad.

And for the record, I bought a Fiesta ST in June, and it's pretty awesome.
